I have a question. The brother was just spoke said that the Torah was the original book of Allah-like the Quran is now. But the Christians and Jews changed it in different ways. Is there anything revealed in the Torah by Allah that He didn’t put in the Quran too?

And I see mentioned something called the “Injeel” or the Christians call it the Gospel. But things have been changed there too. One verse, John 3:16 says “God so loved the world that He sent His only Son.” But we learn as Muslims that Allah is not a trinity and has not begotten and hasn’t begotten anyone-no parents and no children.

So this part of the Gospel must be an addition or change to the Injeel. And what about all the parts of the New Testament that follow the Gospels? Are they completely fiction or did Allah inspire any part of them?

I’ve asked a brother in Islam about the man in the New Testament named Joseph-Maryam’s (Mary’s) husband and stepfather of Isa (Jesus). He is not mentioned in the Quran at all. Even though both the Quran and Bible say that Mary was visited by the Angel Gabriel and told she would give birth to a child without the aid of a father-there are differences in the story-besides the absence of Joseph (Maryam’s husband) in the Quran. Isa was born under a date palm tree and Maryam shook the tree to get dates for nourishment-and the Christians have a story about Mary and Joseph being required to go to Bethlehem for a census since they were of the House (family) of David and that people were required to go to the birthplace of their ancestors for the census. And there was “no room at the inn” like they kept being told-so they had to stay in a stable and Mary placed the baby Jesus in a manger.

Quite a bit of difference in the story of Jesus-or the Prophet Isa in the two books. The Quran even says that Isa (Jesus) is not part of Allah or the “son of God” but a rasool like Muhammad, Noah, Moses, and Abraham.

I wonder where Joseph of the New Testament and the story of the census and the manger came from.

And some Protestants claim that James was the half-brother of Jesus while Catholics insist that Mary remained a virgin for the rest of her life.
